“Our redesigned short walks series is now bigger and better than ever,” says Crimson’s series editor Kevin Freeborn. “The books have been completely redesigned and now have more pages, an easier-to-use layout, lovely pictures, GPS waypoints and large-scale Ordnance Survey maps.” David’s New Forest guide is second only to the Lake District in terms of popularity, and was amongst the first batch of titles to receive the new look. “I was thrilled to see the proofs of the new guide,” says David, after completing the fieldwork last summer. “The covers are much crisper and more eye-catching, and the colourful inside pages draw readers in with bigger pictures and a more appealing layout.” The series is ideal for families, and for people with limited leisure time. Each guide includes twenty circular walks graded by distance and difficulty. The walk descriptions highlight points of interest, and include an observation question designed to keep children entertained.
